Wow…its November! Last Friday I ran into Home Depot to pick up something and I was astonished when I walked in…why?

Christmas decorations were everywhere and let’s be honest, I just wasn’t ready! Didn’t I just pass out candy to those cute little trick or treaters last night – how did Home Depot manage to completely flip the store overnight?!

I was reminded that 2019 only has two months left and during these two months, we tend to have so much going on with Thanksgiving, holiday parties, volunteer activities, shopping and the list goes on but another thing on our list is our end of the year planning in preparation for the New Year.

Below is a list of few of my favorite online resources in case you find yourself in a place these next 2 months needing information and feeling lost on how to find it:

  1. Check your Credit – each year you get one free credit check!  I have had several people this year have their “identities” stolen and accounts opened in their name.  Checking your credit is a practice we should all do annually – www.freecreditreport.com
  2. Thinking about a purchasing new car or a new home in the Spring? Visit Bankrate.com – easy to use calculators and pulls local interest rates according to location. Plus a ton of other information
  3. Just starting to think about college for children or grandchildren? And you don’t even know how to begin learning about different options…Visit www.savingforcollege.com for great information and even research by state

Other items to not forget:

  • Schedule a meeting with your accountant or CPA to understand your 2019 tax liability and if there are any action steps you can take before year end to reduce your overall liability

  • Schedule a meeting with your financial advisor to review 2019 and prepare for 2020. Don’t have one? I would love to help – call or email me at 615.369.1611 or maleah@wiseandworthy.com
